This camp has got off to an exciting start as far as I am concerned.Its really getting me pepped up to learn more.

 

I am a pround Founder and Trustee of a social weelfare organisation YOU India (Youth Organisation for Upliftment) based in Chennai,India.The main aim of the organisation is the upliftment of the people who are downtrodden.Our present focus has been the educaiton secor, providing impetus to the educational programmes by inspiring kids to take up science and other sunjects with more interest.

• If you were a student, would you know how to interact on this site? Are there clear directions and resources to help you get started?

 

          At the first sight, I feel the site has good directions to interaction and also to undertand the structure of the site. The projects available and the teams have been seperately depicted. 

 

• How is this workspace organized?  Is there a better way to group information and make it more clear for students on the workspace?

 

        I personaly feel the workspace is well organised execpt that the irrelevant and unneccessary pics that signify nothing much regarding the actual info about the project.

 

 

• What did the professor do to make this site engaging and specific to DePaul and the class?

 

          The site is meant to have supporting material to a specific course at the university. The site also contains assignments and project guidelines to a specific project.

• What is this team doing to organize their group project?

 

          The project mates are scheduling the meets through various online sites and messenger services skype and other conference call methodology. All the info about the project including the minutes are on the wiki pages.

 

• How is this team tracking deliverables and decisions?

 

         The team is able to track the deliverables by interacting thro online services and also by posting all info about deliverables and decisions on wikis. So, if there is any problem the info on wikis can be edited.

 

• If you were grading this team by participation on the workspace, how you would you grade the team of 5 people. (Hint, look in the page history for all the pages that the team has linked to.) 

 

       The only person to have edited the page is Pathik Chitania. Although the is the webmaster its not that onyl he can access the page do the edits. The other team members could have also done the edits atleast once a while. But again it depends on the team policy.If it was decided that only the webmaster is responsible for posting changes, the inactivity of the other members can be accepted.

• What is a sandbox and why is it a good idea?

 

         As to what I understand, its a tool used to edit the info without the problem of data being affected.

 

• How did this professor centralize their course schedule, and assignments?

        

           All the info regarding the course,students bio, process, discussion area all available on the wiki pages.Thus it has all been interlinked and centralized.

 

• Can you find the student bios? Why is having student introduce themselves a good idea?

 

           Ya. In the "People" tab. The best way to introduce the students is by allowing students to write their own bio and also since the bio is also an important component of the evaluation.

       Course syllabus,Contact info ,Office hours, course description,  ---tab is in the home page, really easy to find

       Assignments---- I used the navigator to spot the page

      Direction of workspace and ------ I could not find it.  

 

• As a student going to this wiki, do you know what to do?

 

         Ya. Its an online course with all info about including the course materials, prerequisites etc.
